I really wanted to show everyone what esmerelda looked like so I took a picture of her on my desk at work:
So here she is! Right behind her is my favourite work appliance, the electric kettle. Next to that is a binary clock that the very nice people at thinkgeek.com gave to me when I interviewed there. Sadly for them, they didn't hire me but that's a story for another time.

OMG! I, too, have an "Esmerelda"! Mine is named Francine. She's white & poops out tiny bubbble gum eggs when she walks. She's been with me for over five years. Would you believe I still have coworkers trying to eat her old crusty bubblegum eggs? At this point, who am I to stop them?

luckily, mine lays small round plastic 'eggs', but one of my co-workers did inspect them as he expected to be able to eat them..
I'm not sure which part is stranger.
