I was driving home from work today, and decided to fiddle with my XM station presets. I had just settled on channel fifty-something-or-the-other "coffee house".. and they started playing this ukulele song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo╩╗ole. And it was awesome! So I looked him up on wikipedia, and realized "this is the fat hawaiian ukulele player that someone was trying to tell me about a couple of weeks ago"! Now before you call me insensitive, you should look at his picture and read the bio on wikipedia. His obesity contributed to his death.

but the song is amazing!

so once I got home, I started messing around with my uke to see what I could do. sadly, the only song that I could make a video of myself playing (that actually sounds like the original) is "My Ding-a-Ling" by Chuck Berry. First of all, I'm ashamed to admit that I know this song well enough to know that my version is an accurate reproduction. Secondly, I'm with the rest of the people who think there is something just not quite right about this little tune. Therefore, you will not be seeing me on the youtubes playing it.

that is all.
